Basic Survival Skills No Backpacker Should Be Without

The usual survival kit items: Fire starter, waterproof matches, signal mirror, sewing kit, foil blanket, water purification tablets, fishing line and hooks, compass, fire tinder..  Bring along a way to obtain tinder as well. In inclement weather, it is sometimes difficult to find dry tinder otherwise.. Your hunting knife is a valuable tool to assist you harvest and prepare these edibles.. The point of through an emergency backpack just isn't to be able to run off into the woods and live off the land forever.. You might even stuff your jacket   with all the fluff from cattail or milkweed plants, in order to increase the insulation value..
But of course not everyone is starting the same type of terrain throughout the same seasons and engaging within the same activities. .  Learn these simple rules and you can rule the outside.. They don't need to get refrigerated, require no bottles that may cut your skin, making your food more edible out on the trail..
